WHY SHOULD I CONTINUE THROUGH SUMMER?
With the warm summer months right around the corner it can be tempting to want to hold off on starting a fitness program or discontinue your current one with the mindset being that you will be getting PLENTY of activity from outdoor activities such as walking, biking and gardening.
And while these types of activities are great to do, they do not provide the stimulus needed to reap the benefits that only resistance training can provide, such as increasing muscle mass, improving insulin sensitivity and increasing bone density, among many others.
These fun outdoor summer activities should be enjoyed IN ADDITION to (at least) two resistance training sessions each week.
